Introduction:

After reviewing the resources and materials provided, my thoughts on health care inequalities are that they are a significant problem in America that requires continuous reform. The Harvard University forum highlights the significant disparities in health care access and outcomes between various socio-economic groups. These disparities are attributed to multiple factors, including differences in education, income, and race. The healthcare system requires transformation to ensure that all members of society have access to the same healthcare services and resources.

Answer:

Healthcare inequalities in America have been an ongoing issue, and the Harvard University forum only reinforces the need for continuing reform. The forum highlighted the disparities in access to healthcare and healthcare outcomes between various socio-economic groups. When it comes to healthcare access and utilization, individuals with lower incomes and those with poor educational backgrounds have a harder time accessing necessary health care services. These disparities are also evident among race and ethnicity groups.

America’s healthcare system is in dire need of transformation so that everyone receives the same level of healthcare services and resources. The healthcare system tends to benefit the rich more than the poor, and thus, the government and stakeholders in this sector must reform it. The reforms need to address both the structural and coverage aspects of the healthcare system. For instance, the government should instigate policies targeted towards reducing the costs of health care services and medications to make accessible to all the public.

The need for healthcare reforms has never been more significant than it is at the present moment. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the inequalities in the healthcare sector with the poor and communities of color being the hardest-hit. The pandemic has laid bare the cracks in America’s healthcare system, and it is up to healthcare professionals to come up with workable healthcare reforms for the country.

In conclusion, the healthcare sector requires continuous reform to minimize healthcare inequalities in America. Everyone deserves access to quality and comprehensive healthcare services. The policymakers need to take the necessary steps to ensure that healthcare reforms are instituted to create an equitable healthcare system.
