Family Literacy Night–Learning Outcomes

Description Plan a literacy night that includes all stakeholders (families, community, students, etc.). Using the tool of your choice, create a multimedia presentation that explains the Family Literacy Night in detail and includes important information you have discovered and discussed in this course. Submit your presentation (approximately 8–10 PowerPoint slides or a 5- to 10-minute presentation), Annotated Bibliography, and Assignment 1 Literacy Educator Self-Assessment Reflection. To begin your annotated bibliography, compare the situation in the School in Crisis scenario to your current (or a past) educational setting. Identify an issue in the scenario that is common to your setting. Find at least one article that addresses contemporary versus historical perspectives related to the issue that you identified (e.g., No Child Left Behind, whole language, or technology). SPECIAL NOTES:THE SCENARIO THE READING SPECIALIST WAS TELLING THE OTHER TEACHERS OF NEW WAYS TO USE TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM FOR STUDENTS TO BE BETTER ENGAGED. Find at least eight articles that address the influence of Common Core and other national, state, and local standards on literacy learning and teaching. Add these to your annotated bibliography. Find at least eight articles that address the integration of technology and digital tools in literacy teaching and learning. Add these to your annotated bibliography. Find at least eight articles related to technology, social media, and engaging stakeholders in the development of literacy programs.
