(1) Your paper must be 8 pages in length plus a Works Cited. (Times New Roman, 12 point font, double spaced) (2) MLA formatting must be followed. (3) A minimum of 10 unique sources must be used, and each main body paragraph must contain at least one source. Sources should only be databases. No use of Google, Yahoo, or Wikipedia. (4) A clear thesis is located in the final sentence of paragraph 1 (5). A clear focus must be stated in the topic sentence (sentence 1) of each main body paragraph (6) Paragraph unity and convincing research is found in each paragraph (7) The paper is free of grammar and sentence structure mistakes. (8) Both signal and non-signal phrases are required. (9) Effective transitions are used. (10). Only 10-15% of citations are direct quotes. The remainder are paraphrases and summaries. (11) First person not allowed (12) The paper is convincing and logical. (13) Clear and effective use of logos, ethos, and pathos are used throughout the paper.
