How does Achilles differ from the usual Greek warrior? How do these differences affect the course of the story? How do these differences affect the heroic code itself?? 2. In Book 1 of The Iliad, Agamemnon and Achilles both violate the rules of the Heroic Code. How does each violate the rules? Whose violation is worse and why? 5. In Book 3 of The Iliad, we meet Helen, who blames herself for the war. Using the text of The Iliad and our class discussions, is she to blame? Why or why not? If not Helen, then who is responsible?
